Melissa Bruder is a dialect coach, specializing in General (Neutral) American and American accents of all regions. The American industry loves Australian actors for their down-to-earth nature, hard work and professionalism.  Don’t give them any excuse NOT to hire you!  Be prepared and ready to go for your next American role or audition with this important set of skills under your belt.

Melissa creates a tailor-made program combining practical techniques to suit each individual actor.  Key sounds and words, intonation, and musicality are all explored to arrive efficiently at a natural and believable American accent.

Melissa has also worked with individual actors on softening or neutralizing a heavy or difficult to understand accent for English language performance.  This was the focus of her post-production work with Yilmaz Erdogan, who won the AACTA award for Best Supporting Actor in Russell Crowe’s The Water Diviner.
